I’m especially prone to blackheads, sebaceous filaments, pustules, you name it I probably have some kind of it. My acne is also very hormonal and these are the products that work well for my skin. Oddly enough my skin is dry on my forehead and cheeks but oily on my nose and chin so I have to use a combination of products as well.

I really enjoyed using the ILSO Nose pack, essentially it has key ingredients that help it to “melt” your sebum and it sticks to the nose pad, because the nose pad in step 1 is made of a special material that sticks to sebum. Yet, the nose pads are not sticky at all so the skin is not irritated at all. It’s very effective at removing blackheads, whiteheads and sebaceous filaments.
Shu Uemura Ultime 8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil
This is probably one of my all time favourite cleansing oils that will never change. Shu Uemura actually started with cleansing oils, so you know for them to become such a huge business, their first product had to be good.
Pros
- The oil is very effective in removing all kinds of make-up and impurities.
- The product is suitable for all skin types.
- The oil contains precious essence of eight exquisite botanical origin oils.
Cons
- The product is quite expensive compared to other cleansing oils.
- It feels a little bit more heavy than other cleansing oils
For my acne prone skin, this cleansing oil was absolutely superb. My skin really felt like it was detoxifying every night and my makeup completely melts away. The only issue is that I find this to be the most expensive cleansing oil out of all of my favourites even though it is such good quality, it definitely is a luxury to have.
Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil
This is an extremely affordable quick makeup remover, that’s part of the reason why it’s called ‘speedy’. Softymo has another version called ‘deep’ but I haven’t tried it, and this works well enough for me.
Pros
- Blends with makeup very fast and rinses off quickly.
- Contains 5 types of beauty oil-Shea Butter, Olive, Jojoba, Sesame, Safflower.
Cons
- I find I need to double cleanse well after to ensure that I don’t get breakouts
It rinses quickly and I just love how effective it is at cleansing makeup for an affordable price. Unfortunately for myself and some of my followers we find that if we don’t rinse it off properly after it could potentially cause breakouts. But, having said that, as long as I spend time double cleansing I reach for this oil cleanser more often than not.
We should all be thoroughly double cleansing regardless of any oil cleanser we decide to use. I highly recommend trying this out, if it’s your first time getting into oil cleansing!

I absolutely love the way the balm looks. It pretty much looks like mango sorbet because they made it with an extract from carrots. They told me that they didn’t add any colouring, it’s completely natural and unscented. It is truly a good product made for sensitive and acne prone skin. The sorbet-like balm melts away sunscreen, thick foundation, and waterproof eye makeup without a fuss, while also helping to keep skin soft and smooth by removing whiteheads and blackheads that cause breakouts.
Also, it emulsifies without stinging the eyes and it cleans the pores very well, my sebaceous filaments easily come out within a few seconds of rubbing it into my pores around my nose.
Another great feature of this cleansing balm is that the sorbet-like solid formulation remains intact until it meets the skin, making it TSA-friendly and perfect for travel. - Has a strong sesame oil smell which some people may not like
ILSO itself is very well known in Korea for their ILSO Nose Pack which has won awards from Olive Young. Their patented selection of ingredients to thoroughly cleanse blackheads and sebum work really well for the nose pack so I also trust it translates to their cleansing oil. Not to mention that their cleansing oil contains LHA to gently exfoliate the skin at the same time.
Honestly, I love using this one because it feels mainly like water. Although I love oil cleansers, I actually don’t enjoy the feeling of oil very much so the fact that it feels so light and breathable is a big plus for me.
MEDITHERAPY A Clearing Facial Gel Cleanser
Pros

The Meditherapy A Clearing Facial Gel Cleanser definitely targets people with acne prone skin. It definitely gives off a strong tea tree oil scent which I honestly like a lot, and it’s still gentle because they infused many soothing ingredients in the facial cleanser.
Soothing ingredients such as:
Organic Houttuynia Cordata extract, Tea tree extract, and Centella Asiatica extract help rapidly soothe the skin and maintain it clean, as it targets blemishes.

manyo Deep Pore Cleansing Soda Foam Daily Face Wash
Pros
- Effectively cleanses sebum and impurities in pores
- Removes even the invisible impurities deep inside pores
- Thoroughly exfoliates the skin
Cons
- May not be ideal for those with extremely dry skin
- Some users might not like the sediments of green tea leaf
This cleansing foam is enriched with Diatomite, Corn Starch, and Soda Powder, which work together to cleanse impurities in pores while keeping the skin moisturized. For myself, I found it to be very effective at cleansing pores and sebum, however it is also quite drying. It’s good for those days where I feel extremely oily and need a good cleanse.
It uniquely contains actual pieces of green tea leaf within the cleanser and because it contains micro-sized baking soda as well it really exfoliates the skin well.
Medicube Deep Vita C Pad
This toner pad works really great to help with hyperpigmentation and blemishes. It essentially lightly exfoliates the skin while inhibiting melanin production for aging spots, sun spots and acne scars. I enjoy using it in the morning to cleanse my face especially on days where I don’t feel the need for a face wash in the morning.
Pros

After cleansing, I simply swipe the pad across my face using the embossed side, then follow up with the silky side for a final touch. You could also use the silky side as a face mask like I do sometimes when I feel the need for a little more help with my hyperpigmentation scars.
Lightly pat to enhance absorption, and within 7 days, you’ll notice visible fading of spots and blemishes, revealing a clearer and more luminous complexion.
As someone who has tried multiple products to reduce dark spots and blemishes, I can confidently say that Medicube Deep Vita C Pad is a great solution for a toner pad.
Veganifect Clean and Glow Toner Pad With LHA

I specifically enjoy using this toner pad when my skin feels sensitive. The Veganifect Clean and Glow somehow exfoliates but calms down my skin as well. I love to use them as face masks when my skin feels irritated. It helps that they’re vegan certified and makes it a good option for people who are conscious of products in this way.
The ingredients that soothe the skin are Mugwort extract, Rice water base and Panthenol, amazing ingredients for calm skin. It’s so calming that I don’t ever feel that I’ve used too much of it.

I enjoy using high frequency wands and I do use a UUPAS myself. However, my one regret is only getting the one with argon, not neon gas. If you didn’t know argon gas helps with acne and neon gas helps with anti-aging. Why not get one box that contains tubes with both gases! Most high frequency wand packages only come with one type of gas glass tube.
